    ool vintage Ibanez "Johnny Smith" Copy
    Rare and very hard to find from the "Golden era" of Ibanez Archtop Production, this FA-500 is killer take on Gibson's classic Johnny Smith.  Signed by master builder M. Sugihara (an apprentace of the legendary Hiroshi Tamura whom studied with John D'angelico)
    A fantastic value for a vintage archtop.  This started life with a floating pickup assembly but at some point was very professionally converted to a single PAF setup a la Wes Montgomery.   There is a sweet sounding Seth Lover PAF installed currently.  The rest of the hardware is original to the guitar.
    This guitar absolutely SPARKLES with vintage jazz tone
    Strung with a brand new set of D'addario 13ga flatwounds.
    There are some deep finish checks in the top that are not cracks - the guitar itself appears to have been played a good deal but there are no cracks, breaks or repairs.  Some of the binding on the back is starting to crumble, which is very common on these 70's Ibanez Archtops.   Worthy of fixing at somepoint, but perfectly playable as-is.
