Description
Adorable mini Tillandsia Xerographica air plants measuring 3 to 4 inches wide. This species is known as the queen of air plants and for good reason! They have beautiful ribbon-like leaves that grow long over time and curl. The plant can grow to be quite large and live for 50+ years. When these plants bloom, they send out a massive bloom spike from the center of the plant that turns pinkish red and shoots out a number of purple flowers. These plants become curlier when watered less frequently and tend to have a straighter curl when well hydrated. They blush pink when in bloom and when kept in lots of bright sun, The bases on most Xerographica are darker colored and this is normal for these plants.
These are an easy care plant which can be housed in a number of ways. They're great as a terrarium plant, house plant, indoor plant (or outside in indirect or filtered light), office plant, and go hand in hand with succulents and bromeliad set ups. Set up a cool air plant terrarium, stick them in an air plant holder, or get creative and come up with your own way to show them off! How you display them is entirely up to you!
Air plants are unique, hardy plants with simple care requirements! They need no soil to grow and they have no roots. All the nutrients and water they need are absorbed through the leaves. Simply mist or soak your plants to water them and give them some light to grow. Eventually, they will produce a flower and then begin to reproduce, creating multiple new plants.
